Tips:

• If the name of the farm is blue with an underline; that's a link to their website or Facebook page. Click on it for the most current hours and information.
• ALWAYS email or call the farm or store BEFORE YOU GO - many farms have closed in the past year, and of course, we won't know until the season starts and we find they aren't open! Call to confirm their supply, their hours and whether they have trees, are allowing choose-and-cut or just precut trees; and which attractions or winter activities are available. All three can change during the short Christmas season, due to weather, demand and the farmer's business conditions! Farms get sold, shut down or run out of trees, and they don't all update me every day, let alone every year. For more tips to make your trip fun and successful, click here !

Adams County

• The Pine Patch - Choose and Cut Christmas Trees, Handmade wreaths, tree stands, and tree bags. Complementary tree netting. Will deliver in town for $5 fee.

Open: from the day after Thanksgiving (Black Friday) to the Sunday before Christmas, on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 10 am to 5 pm. Directions: Northeast edge of Hastings at 2510 N Elm. Click here for a map and directions. We grow Scotch Pine and White Pine on our farm and we bring in Pre-Cut Fraser Fir and Douglas Fir from Michigan. We also have the areas Freshest and Finest Christmas Wreaths. You can come by after November 1st. to pre-tag your tree. Just park at the gate and get your sold tag out of the mail box. We will be open for cutting the day after Thanksgiving but feel free to give me a call if you would like to get your tree before then. Our Grand Opening is the Friday after Thanksgiving. Hours next Friday to Saturday and Sunday will be 10am till the gate closes at 5:15 sharp.. You can still pre-tag a field tree to cut later. Want to cut your own from a national forest in Nebraska?

Cutting a Christmas tree in a national forest is a tradition for many residents of the Rocky Mountain Region. First, locate the forrest nearest you. This link has a easy to use map to find trees you may cut in a national forest in your area . Just hover (position) your mouse over the mouse on that page in your area. Next, you'll need a permit. Call the office of the closest Ranger District to the area you want to cut in to verify that they are offering Christmas tree cutting permits. This link has the contact information for those offices .
