Tips:
- If the name of the farm is blue with an underline; that's a link to their website or Facebook page. Click on it for the most current hours and information.
- ALWAYS email or call the farm or store BEFORE YOU GO
- many farms have closed in the past year, and of course, we won't know until the season starts and we find they aren't open! Call to confirm their supply, their hours
and whether they have trees, are allowing choose-and-cut or just precut trees; and which attractions or winter activities are available.
All three can change during the short Christmas season, due to weather, demand and the farmer's business conditions! Farms get sold, shut down or run out of trees, and they don't all update me every day, let alone every year. For

!
DON'T DRIVE OUT THERE IF YOU CAN'T REACH THEM (by phone, email or find current information on their website or Facebook page!
- And please tell the farmer you visit in East-Central Indiana that you found their farm
here! I need the farmers to realize that you found them here so that they will keep their information up to date!

Comments from a visitor on November 18, 2008: "They do have
"Santa's Outhouse" although they are modern restrooms. They have an
outside shelter house with picnic tables available. During
both seasons there is a snack bar open on weekends which include hot
spiced cider, hot cocoa, coffee, soda pops, nachos, hot dogs, walking
tacos, a variety of candies to choose from, pop corn. When it's cold
outside you can come inside and get a snack and enjoy the warm fire that
is going. Christmas season they are pretty well known for their grave
blankets, grave saddles, crosses, centerpieces, wreaths. The grave
blankets are brought in but they decorate them with bows and pinecones.
The saddles, crosses, centerpieces and some wreaths are made right there
on site. Fir wreaths are shipped in with the grave blankets. They have
even worked with a boy scout troop from a neighboring county and made
wreaths out of scotch pine as a fund raiser for the scouts. A local
scout troop comes in and helps with the loading of the trees on the
busiest weekends. All trees bought from the farm are shook, drilled,
bailed, and loaded onto your vehicle for you. There is also a bed and
breakfast and banquet hall with catering available or you can bring in
your own caterer or just rent the building for any type of party or
wedding. Lots of weddings booked because of the beautiful atmosphere and
surroundings. Lots of people choose to have their wedding rehearsal
dinner there. This is where the email names stems from as this part is
called Pine Retreat Bed and Breakfast and Banquet Hall. There are 30
acres +or- of scotch pine, white pine, canaan fir, norway spruce, blue
spruce and a few others. Fraser Firs are shipped in from North Carolina
since they cannot grow in Indiana soil. They pre-tag trees beginning the
end of September. I grew up in the area and never knew what fun times I
missed out on with my teenage kids with all the activities that take
place there. It's definitely a very neat place to visit. During the
Christmas season, if you go there not in a cheerful, Christmas mood, you
will sure leave in one!"
